On Christmas Eve we open all our presents from Aunts/uncles/cousins and grandparents. We also find out who our secret buddies were. The kids are getting very good at the whole secret buddy concept and it has become one of their favorite traditions. We also finished all our Christmas books that we had not read leading up to Christmas. We normally act out the nativity, but ran out of time this year and just read it. This was the first year that we didn't have any family here to celebrate with so we facetimed and talked on the phone with all our family.

Austin has been acting 2 for a few months, but we officially made it there on December 17th. His birthday like most other events in December sneaked up on us. I am promising to be better prepared next year!

Audrey had a very fun Birthday with mani/pedis with a friend. This was not a party year for her ( I know I am a mean mom, but there are 6 of them!!!) but it was fun. We played Twister,thank you Aunt Nessa and Uncle Zack. Had cake and cupcakes, pizza and Audrey got TOMS!! It was great....and she is looking forward to double digits. Why do they have to grow up so fast.

I am going to attempt catching our blog up to date. It has been so busy at our house and blogging had to wait. So here is a quick look at our fun family times! This year Thanksgiving brought us Mimi and Papa, Uncle Don and Aunt Gwen, Tyler and Bryan.....and an amazingly delicious Turkey!

Tyson has been so busy with work the past few weeks, so we never made it to the pumpkin patch. We did get the last 2 good looking pumpkins at Kroger on Saturday night! Not quite the exciting pumpkin picking we had in mind, but 2 pumpkins is quicker to carve that 5!

This is what Austin was doing while the other kids did this...

the finished product...we didn't start until 7pm and church was at 9am. We couldn't be late because it was the primary program....(which was awesome!) so we did basic carving this year.

Austin was suppose to be Buzz, but it was 80 degrees on Halloween. I called my mom at 3pm and told her it was too hot for his not breatherable pleather, she was quick thinking and found animal print material she has had for years and he was BAM BAM instead. He loved it and used his club ( lunch bags with walmart bags to fill it)to knock on doors. It was so cute!

Trying to get all 5 looking at the camera was impossible. It was also a preview of what was to come the next day for family(minus Ty and I) photos. Holy Cow is all I can say! But I think we got a good one.

Audrey wanted to be a Heath Hawks cheerleader, that is our High School, I was hoping to borrow a friends uniform but I ended up making this one. I think I did a dang good job!

I was so happy and relieved that Mike and Barb could come visit and help out with my mom in New York for Zack and Vanessa's Wedding. I don't know what I would have done without them this past week! They will be missed very much.

It is a tradition for all the girls in out family to get an American Girl Doll for their 6th birthday from Mimi and Papa. Mimi was in town the week before Berlynn's birthday so she took Berlynn and Audrey into Dallas to pick out her doll. I was excited (as most of you know I am mildly obsessed with AG) because she picked Emily! Not only is she a historical doll but she looks like Berlynn and Emily is Molly's friend which is a doll someone in the family has. Berlynn absolutely LOVES her doll and takes her everywhere. She especially likes to dress like her and have their hair the same. There aren't many clothes from AG for Emily and only pjs to dress like her, so Mimi made Berlynn a dress that matches one of hers and Tyson and I got her a few outfits for both of them. I also made them matching skirts for her birthday party. It is fun watching her love the doll so much.

She had only been home with Emily for a few minutes before she changed both of their clothes and hair styles.

Birthday morning, I asked what she wanted and she picked her favorite. Lucky me, that is frozen waffles!

Opening her package from Mimi....it's the dress mom made her. She wore it to church that morning.

Here are the decorations for her party. She had picked out invitations that had zebra print and pink so we stuck with those colors for the party. It was fun getting the house ready.

This I had to put on because Audrey has really gotten into picking out the perfect card for everyone. The sad thing is that Audrey had also gotten her a present and had it all ready to give Berlynn, she then hid it so Berlynn wouldn't see it until her birthday. The problem is she did such a good job hiding it that it is lost! She looked for all day and then wrote a sweet card and gave Berlynn some of her ear rings. It was very sweet. If any of you know where the present is please tell us! Well it is Thursday and we finally found the present!!!

We finished out the day with dinner at Berlynn's choice, Panda Express followed by Purple Berry frozen yogurt and half price books. It was a fun day and the best part was her stitches were out! At the hospital that was her first question "will have these in for my party" So YAY!!!!

Father's Day weekend

On Sunday after church we asked Tyson what he wanted to do for Father's day. I was expected take a nap, instead I got "let's go camping". My thoughts were heck no! It is June in Texas, we have already reached 100 degrees. I am 24 weeks pregnant and about a hundred other things, but our kids got very excited so we packed up the car and left. We headed to Lake Tawakoni State park for 2 nights of camping and ending with going boating with The James'.

There was one very sweet thing that happened that I never want to forget. The 1st night we started dinner late and by the time the kids were done eating it was very dark, so we put the kids in tent to go to bed. Austin was having a hard time staying in his crib, so the older kids started singing goodnight songs to him. Tyson and I sat outside eating and listening to our sweet kids. Those are the moments that remind us that we have the best kids!!

We had a great time overall, but had a quick trip to the ER on day 2. My sweet Berlynn had to get stitches. The older kids were heading to the swimming area while Austin and I napped, but they only got a few feet away before Berlynn ran straight into the stationary grill at the next campsite. We got the bleeding to stop and with a band-aid pinched the skin together on her forehead and headed out to the ER with swimsuits on and campfire smell on us. She was very brave though. I wanted to head back home after the event but we decided to stay and I am glad we did. We ended the trip with fun instead of injury. Here are some pictures of the fun.

Berlynn likes to be up in the front of the boat. She did get in the water every chance she got but didn't get to go tubing. She was happy being out there though. Hunter and Audrey also knee boarded for the first time and did great. Audrey woke up the next morning complaining that her arms were sore, I told her it is hard work holding on to the rope and the tubes. Tyson also had fun wake surfing. Being out there made us miss having a boat but then Austin reminded us that we need to wait a few more years!

After the stitches are in. It looked way better the next morning when all the swelling went down. Hopefully she will get them out soon, but for now we are enjoying air conditioned fun instead of water play.

I have been very very bad at updating our blog, so here is a recap of our last 2 months. Look closely because there is a big announcement hidden in here!!

Hurray for Visitors!!! Last October Josh and Tiffany had a sweet baby boy I was so incredibly happy for them. There was one problem, they live in Utah and I couldn't get there to see Dane. Finally, they came here!!! Dane is the sweetest boy and I am so happy I got to hold and play with my sweet nephew.

I put both of these pictures because I love how excited Austin was to see Dane. This was just a few minutes after they got here.

Dane got LOTS of love and attention. I bet he was a little happy to get back to the calm life back home. But we miss them like crazy.

My baby girl turned 4!!
Carleigh had a fun 4th birthday. It started with McDonald's for breakfast, then we went to see Tangled in the theater, then dinner and games at Chuck E Cheese. It was fun and we were glad Ellie could join in on the fun.

Spring Break Camping Trip
We went to Bohnam State park and had the BEST time!!! The kids were awesome. we cooked every meal over the fire and slept in our new tent for the 1st time. The campsite we were at was awesome, there was the perfect climbing tree that the kids were on all the time. They named the big branches and pretended they were horses. I absolutely love listening to them as they play together. The trails were very nice and the lake was small but very peaceful. I can't wait to go back, hopefully before it gets too hot

It was on this hike that we decided to tell the kids that we are having a baby. There were some mixed reactions, but after a few weeks of getting used to the idea the kids are getting excited. I can't believe that number 6 is on the way. I feel so lucky!! Here is the 1st picture of our sweet baby. He/She is due to arrive October 11th but they are not planning on letting go past the last week of September. Which is what I am counting on because Zack and Vanessa are getting married in October and I CAN'T MISS IT!!!!

for breakfast we planned to have pancakes. In the middle of the night I realized that we forgot a spatula...here is the one I made, my own campsite creation. It worked!!

NEW FRIENDS!!! A few months ago Audrey and I were in Target looking at shoes and she noticed a girl around her age and she had a pump. I am always looking for kids in her same situations, so I did what I used to hate when my mom did it, and started talking to them. Lexi has been a diabetic since 1 and she is just a few months younger than Audrey. Here height might make you think otherwise! Anyway, she is a great girl and it is wonderful to have a new friend for Audrey.
We got our ears pierced!! It was daddy's idea and they were thrilled. Audrey was not though....she had to wait till she was a little older.

On one Tyson's 3 day weekends we decided to get out of town! We went to Granbury Texas to the dinosaur tracks national park. It was fun to sleep in a hotel, go swimming and hike around looking at the dino tracks. We want to do it again and camp out for a few days.

Here are some random pictures from this month. We have some very cold days but some in the 70s..crazy Texas weather!!! We'll take it though! As I am typing this the kids are outside playing in shorts. Austin is getting way too big and brave. The other kids are just driving me crazy, but I love 'em. Overall it was a fun month..

Hunter had a fun birthday, he invited his friend Joe to go play laser tag and bowling with Tyson, then the girls and I had food and cake waiting for them when they came home. It was a lot of fun. I love giving gifts to Hunter, he is always so excited about everything he gets.

The fun didn't stop after Audrey's baptism on Saturday, we went to a museum, Sprinkles and to the Gaylord Texan.

The Gaylord Texan is decorated so beautifully. I love going there with all the lights, trees, trains, villages and full size gingerbread house.

Kids Christmas clothes
After church on Sunday, we went to the Harbor to enjoy the nice day. It was a wonderful visit that went by way to fast. We were sad to see everyone leave Monday morning.

Rozie......the kids, mainly Audrey, has been asking for a dog for years. I felt like I was ready to consider the idea of a dog, Tyson was totally sold on the idea and had been looking at the SPCA and humane society web sites for weeks. So I agreed to go look at a few dogs he had found. Can you guess what happen next? I had a few requirements 1 the dog had to be small enough for the kids to handle on a walk, 2 good with kids, not much shedding. Of course we found a dog that fit that. Rozie is a spitz mix (I grew up with a spitz and loved her) she has red hair and is a great dog. Audrey has really shown a lot of responsibility and takes her for walks daily. Here's my tip of the day....don't go look at dogs if your husband asks you to, it is a trap!!

Christmas eve is also when we exchange secret buddy gifts. All month we do kind acts or leave little treats for our secret buddy then on Christmas Eve we find out who has been so good to us. It is a fun tradition that the kids have really gotten into.

Christmas Jammies from Gramma and Grampa. They were SO tired. We normally dress up and act the Nativity, but this year was a no go. Daddy read it to us and the kids finally went to bed at 10:30. The upside, not one child trying to sneak down to see Santa!

December wrap up part1

December was a CRAZY month for us. We had one very big weekend full of fun and milestones. On the 17th bubba turned 1 and Tyson graduated YAY!!! then on the 18th Audrey was baptized. It was a wonderful weekend full of family and friends. We were very lucky to have some of Tyson's family here. Mike and Barb, Codi, Jan and Ken flew in for the excitement.

Oh Christmas Tree

Austin LOVES the tree especially when the lights are blinking. But his favorite thing about the tree is......CANDY CANES!!! He got one down one day and fell in love with them. He has learned that shaking the tree just slightly will make on fall to his reach. It is cute and sticky. But how can I say no to the effort or excitement when he finally gets one down.

Berlynn was a Shepherd in the primary program at the ward party. You also get to see Audrey blinking!!!

Audrey and the Pouncing Panthers in the town Christmas parade. We saw lots of church and school friends in the parade. It was fun and much better than the 4Th of July town parade. We have never been to Christmas one because the summer one was sooooo lame. No band, no floats, just a few kids riding bikes and decorated golf carts. This one had 2 bands (1 from each high school) and lots of fun floats. It was over a hour. The kids loved watching and Carleigh thinks we can go downtown and watch one everyday...so cute!

I really love this time of year and the kids are getting into and remembering and reminding Tyson and I of the traditions our family has. On Monday night we finished decorating the house for Christmas for F.H.E. It was fun looking at all the ornaments from when I was growing up to last years made by the kids. Then on December 1st we drew names for what is now called Secret Santa. Growing up we did this in our family and Tyson and I are continuing the tradition. We draw names and keep it a secret, everyday till Christmas Eve we do a kind act for that person or leave little surprises for them, then on Christmas Eve we find out who has been so sweet to us all month. It was one of my favorite traditions and I am glad my kids enjoy it.

Last night we had a holiday fun night at the school and the kids made ornaments and reindeer food. They even saw Santa and his elves!! Hunter is sure we are the largest family in the school, I think others thought too last night with all 5 around Santa for a picture. The kids also wrote letters to Santa with their wish list. After an hour with me alone with all the kids I was ready to go and getting a little frustrated with the kids. It was crowded and my kids kept going between the cafeteria doing crafts and the gym playing games. As I was trying to get the kids out the door, Berlynn said she still had her letter for Santa and needed me to check the spelling then she could put it in the mailbox there. I of course didn't act too thrilled to be slowed down (bad mom moment) but did it anyway. I knelt down to help her and her list was incredibly sweet. A shirt, a skirt and my own scriptures. As you can imagine my attitude changed drastically. In a moment of pure frustration my little girl reminded that I am so blessed to have such sweet children with such sweet spirits.

We had a fun filled weekend this Halloween. First, there was the Trunk or treat at the church, which we came in second place with our chili and our trunk decorating. Tyson looks forward to the trunk decorating every year! Saturday we finally carved our pumpkins. On Sunday we went to a few friends houses for trick or treating. The kids had a fun, of course!! I had a great time making costumes this year and the kids are already telling me what they want to be next year!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

One day I walked in the toy room and saw Carleigh sitting on this bookcase looking out the window and pondering..something!
A few weeks ago we had the Walk to Cure Diabetes, but due to weather it was canceled, so we went rollerskating instead. The kids loved it.

I realized today that I haven't updated the blog in a while, so I thought I would just do quick list of some of our exciting lives..(don't hold your breath!!)

- our most exciting is that we have a new family member. Dane Joshua Austin was born on October 7, 2010 at 4:09 a.m. 7 lbs 3.5 oz and 20 inches long. I am so happy for Josh and Tiffany and know that Dane is incredibly lucky to have such amazing parents.
Isn't he the cutest!! I hate living so far away....

-my baby is officially a walker...boo!! He took his first steps on September 20th (at just 9 months and 4 days old) and kept working on it till he mastered it. I am happy and sad to see my baby get so big.

-Audrey won her first costume contest. She was very excited to win and might even attempt to win again at the Harbor later on in the month. I have to say I LOVE all the kids costumes this year and might not be able to wait to post the pictures!

-We are just a 2 months away from Tyson graduating...YAY!!!

I guess that is really all the exciting things...more to come later!

I have way too many pictures to choose from, so here are my favorites. We had a great summer in Wyoming and got to see lots of family.
Our last day in Wyoming, we finally got pictures and videos of the girls riding their scooters down the walking ramp by gramma's. Carleigh couldn't even balance on the regular scooter when we got there, but by the end she was fearless!!! I have to make the video smaller and post it later.

It was the first time to all 11 1st cousins together. Aren't they so cute!!

While we were in Utah, we were able to attend Stockton's baptism. Branden was baptized in April and Audrey will be getting baptized this November. On the same day in California my nephew Parker was also baptized. It is neat to have cousins the same age.
We decided to take the tour of the conference center at Temple Square.

Audrey was sweating so bad that her blood sugar kept dropping. One of the perks of having a diabetes is getting carried to the car from Grampa!!

My mom flew into Salt Lake after going to California, to drive home with me. (brave woman!) While were in Salt Lake we spent some time with Doug and Kimberlee and Justin and Kylie.

I know I have a lot of back blogging to do, but that will have to wait a few more days!! Here are the pictures from last week. Audrey started 3rd grade, Hunter 1st and Berlynn kindergarten. Berlynn was so cute and said " No mom I want to walk myself to class." We followed her to make sure she went to the right room and sure enough she did!

I am going to make a slide show of this, it is Uncle Jared being the wand maker. The kids all love Harry Potter and he thought it would be fun to go all out. The kids picked their wands and he finished them for them. they even had the choices of dragon's heart, a phoenix feather or unicorn's hair. The kids loved it!! The took them up to the mountains the next day and played on their castle.

The kids have made very good friends with some of the neighbors. Tyson and his sisters played with their parents when they were growing up. Barb, being an amazing gramma, had a sleepover here for all the kids, with pizza, s'mores, sleeping in the tent and breakfast at the Uptown Cafe. The next day was Barb's day off so we had planned a trip to Thermopolis swimming pool, our friends joined us!!

Grampa has been telling the kids he would take them fishing all summer and finally the water was low enough to take them yesterday. Gramma went along to take pictures (I was more than happy to stay home with the little kids!!) The kids had a great time and even caught some fish!!

Hunter told Gramma it was like they were really walking through a Jungle!! It was quite a walk to get to the fishing spot.

Bowling... I WON!!!

Forth (really 3rd) of July!!!

The timing was great last weekend. We had planned to go to Salt Lake to visit with Darcy and her kids and it turned out my Uncle Mark and Aunt Lori were there for Reid's BMX racing. Audrey was so excited to see Mary. They became great friends 2 summers ago in Durango and haven't seen each other since, so Audrey asked everyday we were in Salt Lake if we could see Mary. It was so fun watching the races and Hunter really wants to start racing too. Josh and Tiffany live just a few miles from Darcy, so we had dinner with them and got to see their house. We missed seeing some other family that were in Utah, luckily we go back in a few weeks!!

We have had so much fun doing all the fun things the town recreation office has organized for this summer. We tie dyed shirts, saw a clown, decorated pots and planted flowers, bounce houses and made ice cream. We still have 4 more weeks of fun in Wyoming!!! When we were only into Yellowstone a few miles, we saw an eagles nest and this Eagle was practicing flying I could have watched all day.

Austin continues to be the best baby!! He survived his first real car trip (2 days) and stayed happy most of the time even. He will start eating solids this week and he is so close to crawling. He is having a great time in Wyoming, but misses his daddy. We talk to Tyson on SKYP most days and Austin gets so excited to see his daddy. I don't know his weight, but he is a big boy!!

If only I would have had my camera on me. If the span of 2 hours we had some of the most funny things happen. It would have seems planned but it wasn't. We wet out to eat with Uncle Rich and Aunt Jo (Happy anniversary!!) to a Chinese restaurant and we ordered the poo poo platter. By the way why is it called that? Anyway, Carleigh was having fun heating up he chicken on a stick over the fire, but decided the stick wasn't catching on fire so why not use the paper from the straw. It was on fire and Grampa put it out!! Just minutes later, Mike hits a drink and causes a domino effect knocking over 3 drinks. It turned out he was choking, he's fine!! Then we survive dinner and get back over to Codi and Jared's home and Mike goes to sit in one of Grandma Reilly's pink chairs and falls backwards. Again he is fine!! The face he made was hysterical!! Gramma and Aunt Jo just about peed their pants laughing so hard. It was so funny. I think we really could have won the big prize on AFHV!! One of Hunter's favorite shows!!

We were very excited to see the exhibits at the zoo and are so happy for the elephants and giraffes to have so much room!! It was sad to see them in little areas, so now there are several more animals in a huge area. There are also lions now. The kids favorite part is playing in the river, Tyson's favorite is feeding the birds. We did it all!!!

Here are some of the fun happenings in our lives the past few weeks...
Berlynn's field trip to the zoo. Audrey was still home from her tonsillectomy so she got to tag a long. This was still early in her recovery, so she doesn't look too happy!

While Audrey was still recovering from surgery, the ducks and chicks were ready to go to their new homes. She did get to go the good bye duck party though!! She hadn't started talking very much, but she managed to read a poem. She really missed her friends and was happy to go visit them.

The kids and I (minus Carleigh) walked for CFF (cistic Fibrosis) last weekend. Hunter's teacher Mrs. McReynolds' daughter has the disease and we were grateful to help in a small way. Ellie is a few months younger than Carleigh and the sweetest thing. A few months into the school year we realized we were neighbors and we are looking forward to spending time together this summer. Austin is 5 months old and just keeps getting bigger and sweeter!! He is rolling over and grabbing at everything. He is still a good sleeper and a very happy baby. Austin finds himself in some dangerous situations...like Hunter wanting him to play Wii with him, so he carried Austin upstairs (mothers should really not take bathroom breaks!!) but no harm was done. The challenge was not freaking out and just explaining to Hunter that he really should still be sitting when holding the baby. We are so blessed!! I realized earlier this month that a formal(mail)announcement wasn't done for Austin, so be on the look out for one. Better late than never right?!

"Berlynn, why don't tell us what your talk was on." I said at dinner this afternoon. "It was on paper" Berlynn responded with excitement. "and on a straight tall thing (describing the podium) and there was a microphone."

I was very good at holding in my laugh and then asking what did she say in her talk which she then talked about Joseph Smith and the restoration of the Gospel. She gave great details and remembered almost the whole thing. It was sweet and a conversation I want to always remember.

BEFORE

We had to be at the hospital at 6:45 and she went in to the o.r. at 9 so we had a lot of waiting. She drew pictures and watched t.v. and didn't seem nervous. When the anaesthesiologist came in to say it was her turn, the nerves set in, but she was so brave.

AFTER

It was utterly heart braking to see Audrey in the recovery room right after she woke up. She was confused, in pain, hungry and plain miserable. She was told by some friends that the gas you have to breathe makes you silly, so one of the first things she said was that it was not funny or fun and that she took two breathes and couldn't remember anything after that. I told her that was a good thing! Once she got a popcicle she was much happier but still couldn't feel her throat which made it hard to be comfortable.

The next thing Audrey asked about was her little brothers and sisters. Luckily one was there to cheer her up. It brought tears to our eyes to hear her talk to Hunter and Berlynn on the phone. To hear the concern and love they have for each other. In the hustle and bustle of daily life Tyson and I miss a lot of those moments and it was nice to be reminded of how blessed we are.
Austin was there most of the day with her and she loved having him lay with her.

Audrey's class at school had eggs they were taking care of and last week they started hatching. I there are 6 chick and 4 ducklings so far, and on Tuesday we got to bring 2 home for the night. It was a lot of fun playing them and and taking care of them. Before we left the school, Mrs. Clover reminded the kids that in nature things die unexpectedly and that night we noticed that snowball was not his normal perky self. Sweet Audrey was concerned about it and woke several times in the night to check on it and make sure it was OK. he was better in the morning, but they did take him to the vet and get some antibiotics. It was a fun and loud experience, but very nerve racking...I did not want to be the mom who that killed them! Carleigh almost stepped on it several times, luckily they survived!!!

Austin had his 4 month check up today and he is getting so big. 15 pounds 10 ounces and 25 inches tall. He is rolling over from his tummy to his back and making lots of noises we call talking to us. He also is laughing more.

Tyson cut a tree down last week in our yard and was burning some of the smaller pieces so he and Carleigh had a little camp fire lunch. Hot dogs and s'mores. She was so cute and loved it. So nice having him home a little more.

This year I turned 31. You would have thought that last year would have been the hard year but, being over 30 is much harder!!! It is always fun to reflect on what all that you have done in the years and I guess I mostly can claim children but they are my pride and joy. I admit that we are not at the stage we hoped for our 31st birthdays but we are getting close. Tyson graduates in December and I feel like our life will start a new chapter then. I am grateful for my sweet children who made my birthday special with the help of their dad and Mimi. Berlynn asked me a few days before what I wanted to do on my birthday and I told her everything in great detail. It was a very fun conversation and really wanted me to have everything I said. Here is the cake that I requested.

New Easter church clothes. The older girls got to wear them to the Daddy Daughter dance in February and have been asking for them every Sunday since. It was nice to finally be able to say yes!

Last year Carleigh was sick on her birthday and I don't think she remembered it at all so I was really excited for her birthday this year. We went out to eat and had cake and presents on the 17Th since Ty had to work on the 19Th and then on the Monday after I had some of her church friends over for a lemonade party (since we don't drink tea!!) It was really cute and she seemed to have fun.

I haven't given an update on Austin for a while so here is his latest. Austin is the best baby!!! He sleeps when I need him too he only wakes up 1 time in the night and helps me get moving in the morning by waking me up at 6 most days. He started smiling more around 3 months and that is when these pictures were taken. He gets so happy to see his siblings (even Carleigh who still seems like she is attacking more that loving on him but he doesn't mind) He really is a happy baby and we are so blessed to have him in our family.

Spring break

Since Tyson even had a few days off this year, we decided to go on a short vacation to College Station and visit my Uncle Don and Aunt Gwen. The kids love going to see them and we are so happy they are just a short 3 hour drive from us now. We missed Tyler but but had a great time with Bryan.
We got a tour of the campus and even got to look out from the weather observation deck. We had a great time.

Uncle Don and Aunt Gwen have a beautiful piece of property with a pond and lots of running room. The kids fished and tried to fly kites which turned into running around the pond. They also got a ride on the tractor and go-cart. It was so fun to enjoy the outdoors.

We had a great time taking the Blue Bell creamery and have a new favorite ice cream ( we can only get it when it is on sale though!!)
So it was after the fun tour that we went to the childrens museum and the blue paint happened. It is funny to look back on but it was not funny at the time. Her are the pictures of Carleigh covered in paint. The mom of the child was so crazy, even after having Carleigh say "I told him no" and her child say he did it, she still insisted that there was no way her son painted Carleigh...ok sure he didn't!!!

I had to clean her up a little before we put her in the car but you get the idea. The clothes never got the blue out, I promise I was watching her but for the few minutes I was checking on other kids it happened!!!

J.D.R.F. fundraiser. The kids with diabetes made dishes, quilt squares and painted canvas squares that will be auctioned off at the gala next month. Audrey is my artist so she loved this.

So we have all done this or had it done to usy at least once in our lives, but either the teachers plan changed or Audrey forgot to tell me that there was a fairtale breakfast this morning. Audrey told me after school yesterday that needed a rapunzel costume. I know now that it could have been any fairytale character...of course! After a quick trip to Hobby Lobby and the help of my multi talented husband, we had a decent costume!! I realized I over board this morning when I was at the school, but that is okay. Ty and I have never worked together sewing a dress before!!!

Here are the kids enjoying the 8 inches of snow we got. For 2 people who grew up in snowy winter areas we were very unprepared. our kids have on rain boots and clothe gloves with plastic bags taped over them!!! It worked!! It was a fun surprise to wake up to, but I look forward to it not happening again for 30 years!!!!(at least in Texas!!)

Best and craziest weekend ever!!

On February the 4th the fun began! First Gramma, Grampa, Aunt Darcy, Sydney, Uncle Josh and Aunt Tiffany arrived! My kids have never been so excited. Friday started normal, kids went to school for a half day, the rest of us went shopping, had lunch, did some more shopping and having a good day. In the evening Mike, Barb and Darcy kept all 5 of our kids at the hotel, while Josh, Tiffany, mom, dad, Tyson and I went out to dinner. We went to a hibachi restaurant and while the rice was being cooked, my dad went pale white. It was scary, but we thought maybe he was just needing some sugar because it had been so long since lunch, but then he blacked out. He came too quickly but did it a few more times. I called 911 and he was rushed to the ER by ambulance. It was one of the scariest moments in my life. He spent the night in the hospital to try to figure out what happened, the only thing they could figure it was, was too much blood pressure meds. My dad has worked really hard since Thanksgiving to lose weight and he has done well (almost 70 pounds!!) and his dose was WAY too high. So needless to say Friday was an eventful day. The funny man was more concerned with who was going to pick up Zack and Vanessa from the airport and making sure everyone elses meds were taken care of, my mom kept telling him not to worry about it but after a while the doctor told her to go make sure it was all worked out so he could finally relax!! Crazy Guy!!

We had Aunt Emma ( Great Grandma Vi's sister over with her granddaughter and family which was a nice treat and my cousin Lisa and her family from Frisco. It was truly a great weekend!

Here are pictures from tonight's daddy daughter dance. Audrey was so excited she couldn't sleep last night and Berlynn was concerned all day that they were going to be late if they didn't get ready NOW!!!! There was one sad daughter, Carleigh, who got dressed up and didn't get to go to the ball. She hopefully will have fun making valentines and having a movie night with me and Hunter. There was a moment of remembering this event last year. Audrey was released from the hospital just a few hours before the dance started after here 3 day stay when she was diagnosed with diabetes. Audrey was just happy that we have the shot scheduled so she could stay the whole time this year!!! She is always the life of the party!

Secret Buddy Exchange

This is a family tradition passed down from the Austin side. We draw names the first Family Home Evening in December and we do kind acts and little suprises in secret till Christmas Eve when we have a gift and tell who have. The kids really got into this year and we included Mimi and Papa. It was one of my favorite parts of Christmas growing up and I am happy to be passing it down to my kids.

Well as you know Amy has been pregnant (no not our whole marriage), not any more! She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Austin Daniel Wirtzberger. He has already been given a nickname by Grandpa Wirtzberger "Danny Boy". He was 8lb 7oz and was 21 inches long. The labor was intense it consisted of going in getting tapped for an IV and then getting the epidural, then we were on the edge of our seats waiting and waiting and waiting annnnddd waiting. This went on from 8 am to 1:02pm when pop out he came. I being the well versed man that I am in child delivery was then even there to have the doctor assit me with the delivery of our child, who says you need a degree! After I took the snap from Amy it was joyous for all. So you will see from the pics that he is a great reproduction of some of our best genes. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Well enough bragging the whole event was a great experience and everyone is healthy and OK so that is what really matters. We thank our Heavenly Father everyday for the opportunity to bring his wonderful souls into the world.
